    What Are You Smoking Pages.

My Quigliata with some Pembroke. I scored the last tin after stumbling into a cigar shop. It was sitting there, alone. I found myself looking to my left and right surreptitiously before grabbing and almost running to the counter. 🤦‍♂️

    Back In The Saddle

Greetings gentleman, My wife and I moved across the country and the gents I smoked with were gone. It seems that you can't smoke anywhere. Even the first apartment we moved into didn't allow smoking on one's own balcony. o_O Anyway, I met some cigar buddies but you can't smoke in shops, just...

    Chinese pen recommended

I took Richard Binder's nib class at a pen show and it has helped the cause of pens in that price point considerably. I made a 2 dollar pen write like glass during his seminar.

If only I could remember such info. Actually, pens, paper, and ink, has been the one avocation I have taken a very fiscally responsible approach. Okay, maybe more responsible that the others is the better way of phrasing. @Blackhorse: Grab the 78Gs while you can, they have been discontinued...

Not to be the barer of bad news, but that ink has a tendency to be quite corrosive with gold and aluminum. I don't know whether your pen has any aluminum, but it's something to consider. If your are using it for business and want something professional, blue is your color and the number of...

    WhooHoo!

I guess it would depend on the paper. I would be lying if I stated results with any certainty given the types of paper I used. THAT SAID, I would opt for smaller nib sizes. I know, Captain Obvious, right?

    WhooHoo!

This is from the late 60s with my go-to everyday ink, Maruzen Athena sepia. HTF and not cheap, but worth it given it's function in my routine. It's hard to tell from this photo but it's a darkish sepia that shades to dark brown and eventually a brownish black. If you expand the next photo you...

    For Fountain Pen folks

IMHO, the best and most consistent nibs out of the box come from Sailor. My first was a PG II I bought while in Tokyo As far as Nakaya is concerned, I can see how Briarwood may be popular to this group, but to get a Nakaya without Urushi is, at least to me, is to miss out on a tradition that...

    WhooHoo!

Aurora Blue! They only make two colors and there's a reason for that. All of Oster's blues are superb.

My 2nd or 3rd pen was a Jinhao 159 and the reason I bought it was because it came with a Goulet "M" nib. I still use it to jot stuff on sticky note and/or little messages to put in my planner later. I can't throw it away as many times as I've wanted to. I'll keep it or PIF it.

What's your favorite fountain pen ink?

The iros are very well behaved and look great on almost any paper. Let me know of you want to try anything you don't have. I have tons of sample vials and, well, a lot of ink. Cheers!

Any body keep a Journal of their life?

I keep 3 journals: personal thoughts writing medium and long term goal progress. They are all the same size and paper. I'm open to other journals but I keep coming back to the same stuff.

    Dimond in crusted fountain pen

That's for chumps. Ebay has a Jade pen listed for $345K Not even a mention of the nib. Why would you buy a pen and not write with it?!
