    Gawith Hoggarth

I've only tried a few tobaccos from G&H's lengthy and eclectic list. I really enjoy their Brown Flake unscented, a great virginia/burley flake with a pinch of their magnificent dark fired leaf added in. It has just a hint of Lakeland in the flavor which I enjoy in smaller doses. Dark Flake is...

    F&T High Dry Toast

I've not yet tried the Toque Natural Toast, I bet that one is good. I do have some Toque Quit which is a high toast with an insane nicotine kick. If you can get past the intense burn Quit is quite good.

    F&T High Dry Toast

I love F&T HDT, quite possibly my favorite. It has that perfect snuff 'taste' to it, a friend of mine once said it tasted like an old baseball glove. That's about how I would characterize it as well.

    What are you smoking?

John Patton's Latakia Junction in a MM Legend. I am really digging this stuff, it's a VERY spicy blend.

    Rum anyone?

My favorite rum of all time is Gosling's, but I have drank more than my fair share of Myer's and Pusser's. Old New Orleans Rum makes an amazing Cajun Spice Rum, it's by far the best spice rum I've ever had.

Few critters south of I-10 are off limits to the pot, regardless of their demise. :)

    Earl Grey Drinkers

I agree. The Numi Earl Grey is citrusy to the point of almost being orangey (I guess that's a word?). It's not bad, but I definitely prefer Twining's use of English restraint in the bergamot department.

    Earl Grey Drinkers

Twinings Earl Grey is my everyday tea, I generally have 2-3 cups every morning. Numi makes an Aged Earl Grey which is definitely worth a try. It has a more pronounced bergamot flavor and is a tad more full bodied than Twinings. I keep the Numi around for a change of pace now and then.

    Irish Whiskey

I've always dismissed the whole 'Bushmill's = protestant/Jameson's = catholic' debate since Jameson's is owned by The French firm Pernod (who used to also own Bushmill's at one point...) and Bushmill's is owned by the U.K. conglomerate Diageo (who also owns Guinness I believe). It makes for...

    Irish Whiskey

Bushmills and Jameson's standard offerings are both great whiskies, especially for the price. Tullamore Dew is outstanding IMO, very good stuff. To me Irish whiskies make great spring/summer spirits due to their lighter, pleasant body. I've not tried any of the higher end Irish whiskies out...

Is this the end of the world?

I'm not particularly worried about the outright banning of smoking. A trip to your local Starbucks or Whole Foods will show that the vast majority of the leftist hipster types are cigarette smokers. I do worry about the price, though. I only smoke a pipe or two a day, so keeping a regular supply...

    Pirate Kake

I'd say the incense note is spot on. To me, Pirate Kake has a very exotic taste and aroma from such a substantial dose of latakia and turkish. I also love how full bodied Pirate Kake is, the smoke is so concentrated and dense. I've been smoking a lot of Pirate Kake for the past couple of months...

    Let's talk Anni Kake

I picked up a small sample of Anni about a year ago. I tried a couple of fresh bowls and it just wasn't my cup o tea, it was a tad bitey and I found the topping to be offputting. I stashed away my sample to see if a little age would smooth it out, I will crack into it this week and see if it has...

    Sweet and/or Earthy aromatic

Just For Him's Shortcut to Mushrooms is both earthy and sweet, it would definitely be worth a go. Also, Classic Burley Kake from pipesandcigars is VERY earthy IMO and is a tad bit aromatic, if you like burley.
