    tennon size

Hello all...I'm doing a little research on tennon sizes. I would like to know the different sizes of tennons that different pipe makers use, especially on bent pipes. If you have calipers and care to measure, I would love to know the maker, the shape of pipe, and the tennon size for whatever...

What makes today "the golden age" of pipes?

Change comes to all things. I have only been in this hobby for ten years. That isn’t a long time in the play of life. Yet I have seen a lot of changes. The anti-tobacco movement is here to stay; smokers are being taxed, segregated and slandered. Favorite pipe tobaccos and pipe brands are...

    JT Cooke

Cookes are my main collecting focus. Yep, they are definately great pipes! Other than getting a great smoke, you get a pipe that is uniquely Cooke in both shape and style. His blasts are the best, but I am partial to his smooths, which are now becoming very difficult to find. The air channel...

What can I take on an airplane these days?

Tampers with points, even if blunt, will be questioned if not taken away. I've had to show security my pipe cleaners, too. When packed in a bundle, it looks like dodgy electrical stuff in the xray machine.

    brothers of briar pipe?

This seems to be a common problem for clubs and forums alike. It's not easy for the pipemaker, either, because he will know there will be a few people not keen on the size, shape or finish of the pipe. This is cause for concern for a pipe maker who wants every purchaser to 100% happy with the...

    Chicago Pipe Show

Unfortunately I had to cancel going. All the rooms were booked out at Pheasant Run, but now that my reservation is canceled there is a room. Who knows if it is taken already. If you know of someone who is looking for a room, please pass this message.

    Alright?

Hello. My name is Paul and I live in Cornwall, England. I am an American but I have lived here for six years now. Cornwallians greet each other with an "Alright?" instead of a "Hello". Yes, it is a different sort of greeting, but I have adopted it nevertheless. I make the forum rounds for a...
