    How much in a pint?

Kinda depends like BigCasino have said. A lot can be stuffed into a jar but you don't leave room for air I don't think the tobacco will "age" or "mature" (depending on type) as much. I have about 300 grams of 6 tins of Solani ABF in a quart Mason jar and that leaves almost half of the jar for...

    Solani ABF

Right. I agree. That's why I also going to start a pint jar and let the quart just sit.

    Solani ABF

Right! And after I set that quart jar back I'm going to work on another half pint. I know smarter folks that me say Barley doesn't age if you cellar it but I have some pretty well aged stuff and to me it just gets better! Did I mention I really love Solani ABF. :santa: Mike

    Solani ABF

Yeah I know! I ordered 5 tins from P and C yesterday! Turns out Niko is shipping me the last three tins. He kindly cancelled the other 2 tins and refunded the balance to Paypal because I don't do back orders. He also said it would probably be "several weeks" before they get more, Damn it...

    Solani ABF

Wow! I guess it's really cheap here in the States compared to Canada! I get a 50 gram tin for around $11. I'm trying to fill a quart size Mason jar and ration it out. Is it the tobacco tax that make it so high there? I love Canada and have spent a lot of time there but that price is outrageous...

    What are you smoking?

At 75 I have fallen in love with ABF!

    Solani ABF

I am amazed that after a lifetime of pipe smoking I have never tried Solani 656 Aged Burley Flake. Probably because it is SO expensive! 50 gram tins bring it to around $90 a pound!!! Can't be an all day smoke for retirees! I have seen posts about 100gram tins but can't seem to find a supplier...

    C&D BURLEY FLAKE #2

Holy Smokes!!! Tried this for the first time last night before bed. BIG MISTAKE. The Nic was way up there. Loved it but kept me awake for a while. I found it at Mars, typed up the order and discovered they apparently don't take PayPal. Anyone aware of a site that carries the 8 ounce that does...

BURLEY BITE OR VA BITE WHAT IS YOURS SURVEY

I smoked cigs for a lot of years. Quit in the early 80's. Burleys don't seem to bite me as much as Virginias. But I am the first to admit I am NOT a disciplined smoker. Once I fire up I usually smoke the bowl straight through. M wife calls me a chimney... well she actually calls me a lot worse...

    Metalic Taste!

Thanks Cartaphilus! I listen to Parris Island Cadences. Stirs my old blood and brings back memories.

    Metalic Taste!

Thanks. I really do like cobs but I will give one of my briars a try next. I have a bent Costello in more or less billiard style I will try.

    Metalic Taste!

I'm thinking about trying one of the Thunderbird inserts to use with my Zippo case. I seriously doubt if I will ever use anything but butane or matches again. On another topic I am sitting here typing and smoking my first ever bowl of SG Best Brown Flake in a cob. Quite a departure for a...
