Need to look at the Cowboy Coffee you guys are talking about to go with my Cowboy Coffee! 🤠
Just had some C&D Bluegrass in a Rattray's Good Deal 9mm filter-less Billiard. This pipe brings out a deep Kentucky flavor and cedar interplay with an effervescent Perique presence. Very tasty out on...
Following left overs from the culinary extravaganza I served today, sat down with a bowl of C&D Derringer in a Ropp Vintage Cutty. Cowboy Coffee on the side. Sweet, sublime Virginia goodness.
Sister pipes (Ropp Vintage Belge) in a side by side comparison with Penny Farthing out on the patio. Loving this tobacco, especially in these pipes. One pipe has a dark horn stem, the other two toned. After this little experiment, I'm naming them after twin girls I knew in Jr. High. The dark...
Just enjoyed a dark, rich bowl of C&D Big N' Burley in a new Rattray's Distillery Billiard. Cowboy Coffee at hand on the patio as the snow clouds begin to gather.
Completed a dark and rich bowl of C&D Oak Alley in a Ropp Vintage Sandblast Liverpool. Enjoyed in the relative warmth of the partially opened garage. Quite different smoking in the garage compared to the outdoors. At least the trash was collected today! 🤠
Enjoyed a lovely bowl of Solani Aged Burley Flake in the Ropp Stout Billiard from earlier this afternoon. This is a long-time favorite with sweet floral overtones tonight. Was tasting some of the delightful leftovers from the Semois earlier today. This added to the pleasure of the Solani. Old...
Wowza!
First foray with Tabac Manil La Volute (Semois). Savored every wisp, sip, sniff, retro-hale...every flake. basically every moment of this tobacco. Smoked in a Rossi Stout Billiard. Cowboy coffee at hand.
This is the flavor that I've been seeking in a pipe.
Delicious!
First foray with Five Brothers. Reviews indicate a mule kick of Vit N and the taste of mud. Well, in a Marcus Fohr Black Clay Bilge, there was no mud and a very docile mule. This is good stuff! Will explore more with it. Good, dark Burley with body and some muscle. I'm still standing (or...
Late morning side by side tasting of C&D Three Friars in a Ropp Vintage Liverpool vs a Tsuge Tasting Billiard. Quite interesting how different this tobacco can taste between different pipes.
The Ropp had a "wider" flavor spectrum...more high notes and less sweetness. However, the darker bottom...
I was told that the Black Frigate "ghosted" me. However, I did not offend myself, so I let it be (Hah!). I do stay away though to tobacco that smells like I rolled around in an ashtray (ciggy smell).
Have not yet tried the McB Plum Cake.
Another Rattray's Good Deal came in today. This is also a rusticated Billiard, about an inch longer than the other one. This had a 9mm filter which I removed. Sipped and savored another bowl of C&D Black Frigate. Wow, this is a terrific tobacco! This is a dynamic duo; one light after the char is...
