I am not agreat fan of it, although I agree it varies greatly with different pipes.
Oddly enough it tasted best in a Charatan for me as well.
I do find it too astringent though, has me reaching for a drink.
Could be a good excuse.
Difficult to answer as my tobacco choices vary from season to season.
Now in the winter mainly flake tobacco's, so my go to regular would be Universitity Flake.
However with the internet thre are so many tobacco's to be sampled it seems rather retrogressive to limit your choice.
I have found with Dunhill's as with Greg it is the age of the pipe which is most important. I have Dunhill's that are pre and post war which are far better than my most recent which is a POY 2005.
It is a very similar situation with Peterson's a pre republic made one is far better than most...
I know how you feel Mike, I have bought and sold (Under different I.D.s) since 99.
It is not the place it used to be, levels of trust and honesty have severely declined.
