Watching the History Channel documentary WWII in HD. I can see why they call it America's greatest generation. What they and America accomplished in four years is amazing. In 1944 in Europe and the Pacific we were averaging 12000 men KIA a month. Not to mention what Americans accomplished at home in building ships, planes and supplies during that time is simply unimaginable.

I enjoyed the documentary on the History channel Presented by historian Michael Cathcart, The Extraordinary Tale of William Buckley is a dramatized documentary that tells one of Australia's great untold stories. I just finished reading his memoir as well really fascinating.

Buckley's improbable survival is believed by many Australians to be the source of the vernacular phrase "you've got Buckley's or none" (or simply "you've got Buckley's"), which means "no chance", or "it's as good as impossible".
