Closing in on the half way mark on this bowl of Peretti Cuban Mixture in an undated slight bent rusticated brown with a darker fumed top unbranded Micoli billiard with a white accented perpex ferrule, off center square shank and black vulcanite stem in the military mount style. Just finished writing an brief art analysis about the late cartoonist Lily Renee for an article that will appear in The New York Times.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I just finished smoking year 2016 Sutliff 507-C Slices in a black sandblast PSB medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY 4AB No. 228/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Did you happen to get a picture of the scale? If so, I'd love to see it. When I worked at a shop, we used a scale from the 1930s or 1940s. It had a giant metal scoop that then rested on four prongs. It worked great, and it was surprisingly accurate. People enjoyed watching us weigh up their tobacco.

63° and clear. A Stanwell with 5 year old Luxury Navy Flake. A fine, fine smoke. 8/10.
Hey Zeno,
I didn’t get a picture of the scale, but I found a picture of the scale on the internet. It is mostly made of wood, cast iron, and brass. The employee weighing out the tobacco said the scales were originally used for weighing gold before the Peretti’s used it for tobacco. There was a handle in the center of the scale that was pulled back/forward when they had the correct measurement. It was probably around three feet tall and had a wood drawer below like an old cash register. Looked like the ceiling was around fifteen feet. Very historical little shop.

Hey everyone.
Was able to squeeze three bowls of tobacco in today. First was PS Cube Cut Burley in my Peterson Sandblast Pub pipe. Second was WCC DeLuxe Crumb Cut in my Castello K-31. Last, but not least was the new WCC Waltham Broken Cake in my Peterson Ashford XL90. Waltham Broken Cake is fantastic if you like dark fired Kentucky & burley! Similar to the current Three Nuns.

Now smoking Angler's Dream in a 2018 natural smooth medium bend Peterson 03 apple silver spigot military mount with a tapered black acrylic fish tail stem. I ought to end the day with this smoke, but I'm watching England's new King on the BBC.

Good Afternoon friends.
Plugged a Peterson Killarney Red XL90 with Three Nuns. Mrs Z has only just found this Bakki in a cupboard, I don't even remember buying it. So it's a bonus 😁 But knowing my taste in tobacco has changed, let's see if I still like it.
Have a great day everyone.

Catching up on news of King Charles III, and studying/planning deck reconstruction.
St. James Flake in a Savinelli Trevi 320 EX. I didn't dry this enough after cube cutting it, so much relighting. Loosened up the pack and even repacked, so now it's humming along and it's very good. This pipe's long contemplative personality really mesmerizes me. Going to be a busy day, so this may go to DGT. I'll no doubt need a bowl later.

Zip,
Three Nuns and a Pete XL90 is a winning combination my friend.

As I sit here watching The Long walk, (for my American friends), It's the walk that the new Prince of Wales takes to meet and grieve with the people . Right now he's walking with the Princess of Wales, his brother Harry and Megan of Sussex. I suddenly felt an urge to smoke a pipe I very rarely smoke. This pipe belonged to my father, and before him my grandfather. I don't know its brand or its age. The hallmarks on the silver are worn, and the stamp on the briar has long faded. But I suddenly feel an urge to touch my own personal history, so I'll plug it with Petersons Elizabethan mixture. And continue watching this very emotional event. Have a great day my friends

Almost half way through this bowl of year 2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice water and bergs is my drink. It's rained all day and may rain all weekend, so it doesn't look good for walking. Watching the Yankees-Rays game.
