Have a good time when chasing the rooster! The best one hunting roosters was in Alma, Nebraska even better than SD.

Those China Roosters used to scare the crap outta me in our woods when I was a kid…exploding from the bracken ferns screaming their fool heads off. They would wait til you were about six feet away…then KABOOM! Beautiful though.

Yeah, mom would let us outside in the morning and then hose us off on the back deck before we could go inside again at night. Good times.

Did a lot of pheasant hunting when I lived in Nebraska and Iowa. Ex Father in law was in agri business and knew half the farmers in SW Iowa so we always had plenty if places to hunt. Would go out on Sat or Sun mornings, get our limit, and be back in the local bar by noon for burgers and beer. Yep, good times.
