New member from Washington state

Hello all,
I've just received my first pipe and purchased my first pouch of tobacco. As others have mentioned, and I'm now finding out, finding tobacco in WA is difficult and online orders are illegal. There is one smoke shop in town; the gal was friendly and didn't seem to mind talking about the different tobaccos she had in stock. I purchased a Captain Black Royal. It wasn't what I wanted but it smelled ok through the package. My first smoke was just ok. I will keep trying but I do hope to find a better tobacco that I can enjoy soon.

I'm wondering what peoples' experiences are with purchasing pipe tobacco at convenience stores and/or grocery stores. Do you find a selection? I wouldn't expect top brands, but do they have good ones?

Welcome to the group. I'll actually be moving up that way next year. I've had luck finding Carter Hall in grocery stores.

Depending on where you are located you could try smokey joes. It is mostly a cigar shop but they may have some pipe tobacco.

Welcome and good luck. Without knowing what you're going to like it is difficult to come up with a care package. Seems folks naturally will recommend what they like themselves.
