I like the idea of pairing a pen with a specific ink. It’s a YouTube thing maybe. Be that as it may…I’ve been collecting pens for a long time and inks as well so I might as well show off some classics.

“Leonardo” is a brand out of Italy. Small…run by a family…super high quality in materials and workmanship. I’ve only recently become aware of them and have picked up a few. This one is uses their proprietary acrylic resin, hand turned from individual blanks. It’s a cartridge/converter design the actually allows access to the end of the included high grade converter by unscrewing the end cap. For me, every one of the Leonardo pens I have (about 6) has written perfectly with no tuning whatsoever.

Details: They typically use a really cool roller tipped clip. In this series they etch the number of each pen made.

The color is “prugna” (plum). The hardware is rose gold. The matching ink is Diamine “Writer’s Blood”. It’s arguably the most perfect match I’ve ever seen.
