Posted from school yesterday, 5 buildings and a dorm had pipes frozen and had minor to severe flooding last week. If I were still in Louisiana, I'd be wondering if we've been cursed!

Had an ignition switch put in my car yesterday. Seemed to go well. Set off to work this morning, wipers don't work, defrost blows out the wrong vents. Drove back to the house, drove the old lady's fancy new minivan to work so she can take mine back to them today. By the time I go back and start again, traffic happens. Late for work today. I'm not supposed to smoke in her van. Not happy! What a start to the week.

When I was a student at Iowa State in the early 70's some of the profs would let you smoke a pipe in class. You just had to sit in the back and open a window, lol.
In the late 1980s we were still able to smoke cigars and pipes at our desks.

By 1991 they had instituted a "smoke room" and by golly that's exactly what it turned out to be. More of a health hazard than anything else and almost impossible to see anybody. If we had to go pull somebody out of there it was hard to find him in the fog.

Those of us with pipes or cigars smoked outdoors or over lunch in a conference room with the doors closed, and let the complainers be damnned. But the cigarette smokers were butt-hurtin' (pun intended).
