Wondering how many shaves uses get out of s standard double-edge blade? Now that I'm retired I only shave a couple times a week, and I usually wait until I feel the drag before I change blades, but I often go too long and I'm usually sorry.

I buy a pack of 100 Feather double-edge blades and replace them every two weeks. I only edge up my beard and neckline 2-3 times a week, but that's still almost a 4 year supply of blades around $37.

Yea I usually buy the 100 or 200 packs. It's great spending as much on a 2 year supply as others spend on a three pack of the new cartridges lol.

With my last Astra green, I got 22 or 23 shaves, and I think I could have gotten another couple of shaves out of it. 20+ has been the norm.

I get about 10-12 shaves out of a blade. My beard is really thick so I go through blades pretty quickly. I could stretch it more but ingrown hairs become problematic when I have to use more pressure.

should probably mention that I feel pre-shave preparation affects how long a blade will go. the more hydrated the hair is, the easier it is on a blade.
