    R.I.P. Larry King

That doesn't surprise me at all.

    R.I.P. Larry King

You gauged him correctly. Larry loved Larry, and everything else was much less important. I enjoyed his radio show much more than his TV work, and often listened to him in the 1980s. He was a great broadcaster, but he got sloppy as time went on. When I did radio, we used to make fun of him for...

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Enjoyed a very tasty egg sandwich, and am almost half way through this bowl of SWRA in a straight black sandblast undated Savinelli Hercules 115EX pot with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

What are your Pipe and Tobacco plans for 2021

My plan is to continue to smoke as I always do, which is constantly.

    When A Sale Isn't

I noticed that, too. And P&C's 30 cents off a tin deal on Hansom Flake was silly. I've seen prices raised on blends, and then seen the discount end up barely being below the pre-sale price at some places. E-tailers who do that should know we are paying attention to that.

Now smoking the very dry year 2015 D&R A.P. Rimboche in a smooth dark brown, medium bend late 1950s Parker Super Bruyere 45 with a “4” in a circle billiard with a black vulcanite tapered stem. This should get me to dinner time. Watching the Yankees-Rays game.

Jim's Revised Heinrichs Curly Block Review.

I'm posting my original review followed by my current review of the latest production of Curly Bock since STG now produces it. Mac Baren was the original producer. The Virginias are very earthy, bready and woody with a fair amount and variety of sweet fermented flavors: brown sugar, tangy...

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

About a quarter of a bowl left of Cobblestone Whiskey in a medium bend 2001 Ural lattice Rhodesian with a yellow saddle stem with white swirls.

Thanks. I stop in occasionally to see what's happening even if I don't post much anymore.

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of circa year 2000 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Time has been kind to this tub I just opened. I could smell the...

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Part way through this bowl of Wilke Lizzie Blood Virginia in a straight 1960s Lane era Charatan black with burgundy undertone sandblasted billiard 420 with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Where is everybody?

    Thank you for the compliment.

    Jim's Three Nuns Reviews.

Thanks. It was a lot of work, but I felt it needed to be done as I've been asked about it quite a lot over the last few years. I didn't like the review I had for it, so I dumped it and started over to reflect my current standard of reviewing, and to note the history of the blend from my experience.

    Jim's Three Nuns Reviews.

Occasionally, I am asked about Three Nuns, so I decided to rewrite my review, which is fairly long. I detail the three versions I have smoked, and compare them in this review. The Yellow and Green Three Nuns blends, which are later manufactures, and are using the Three Nuns name on the label are...

Archie Comics' Editor Victor Gorelick Has Passed.

Kids don't read comics. What reading they do is on their I-whatevers. Comics lost the kid audience years ago, though Archie has done their best to give them a clean and fun product.

Archie Comics' Editor Victor Gorelick Has Passed.

Victor Gorelick was my Archie Comics editor for over twenty years. He made working for the company easy and fun. He trusted me with tight deadlines many, many times, saying "I can always depend on you". When I needed extra work, he was there to help me. When I came to him for professional...

Watch City's Xmas blend...by Ozark Wizard!

Here's my review of it: The various red Virginias offer a lot of tangy ripe dark fruit, earth and wood, some sugary stewed dark fruit, light tart citrus and grass, bread, hints of floralness, spice, vinegar and acid as the lead components, though they mostly tend to be teammates to the other...
