Most of my all-time favorites are gone. Here's most of what's on hand presently... McClelland's British Woods (old stock still on hand) Edward G. Robinson's Half & Half Sir Walter Raleigh Carter Hall Country Squire's Figgy Pudding Orlik Golden Sliced Presbyterian Rattray's Black Mallory (the...

    Prince Shape and French Pipes

    While I wouldn't call the 408 a traditional Prince shape, it's a pipe I could learn to love :)

    Prince Shape and French Pipes

The late great Tom Dunn's favorite shape was the Prince. A bit too dainty for me; JMO.

    Peterson 2023 Christmas pipes

When I started smoking a pipe centuries ago :) I preferred deeply bent pipes, but I gradually gravitated to straight or slight bends. The last few pipes I've acquired are mostly bents however; go figure.

    Peterson 2023 Christmas pipes

I'd go for a B42 as I like the tapered stem; my B42 has the standard Pete military-style mount. Without a p-lip though I'll prolly pass.

    Peterson 2023 Christmas pipes

Some nice shapes being offered, nice prices, and I like the red sandblast. I get that they're trying to cut costs but I wish they'd offer a p-lip, even as a special-order option. I'd be willing to wait a while for one with a p-lip.

    I was watching TV…

Say what you want, Martha looks pretty good for 82 and not having much or any work done. Don't need her trying to be "cute" however.

The Book of Pipes and Tobacco, by Carl Ehwa Jr.

I have a signed copy of Hacker's book also, but frankly I probably got more out of these three little paperbacks than either of those. I can't begin to think how long I've owned them; no color illustrations but a lot of helpful information.

    Bourbon, Irish Whiskey or Scotch?

I never cared for Laphroaig until one extremely hot day walking The Plaza in Kansas City with my girls. I stumbled into a bar thinking about a cold beer when my eye fell on the Laphroaig bottle, and for some unknown reason I forsook the beer and ordered one neat. Can't explain it but at that...

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Loaded up a substantial rod (Winston 9' 7wt) and went out after some big channel cats; more fun than you can imagine on a fly rod. Sadly they didn't want to play and I got skunked, but I did have a bag of Figgy Pudding in the truck and my Peterson SH Squire in my pocket so the day wasn't a...

    Jim, you dog!

Here's a stock pic of a current Baskerville offering. Note that above the bead the shape appears to be tapered at an angle as opposed to the rounded egg-shape on Jim's pipe, and the front of the bowl is flatter. Also the bottom of the bowl is much flatter as opposed to the round bottom on...

    Jim, you dog!

Great story on the Baker Street Jim; very special! The two Baskervilles above are very nice and do have the shape I'm looking for, but your smooth finish pipe is the one I lust after. At some point they've changed the shape (maybe it's just my eye but the original has a tighter bend and much...

    Jim, you dog!

Ever since I saw your SH Baker Street I've wanted one like it; it had to have the beaded groove lines. Finally found it... Now to find one of the original Baskerville shapes like yours, instead of the shape they're calling a Baskerville nowadays....

    Bourbon, Irish Whiskey or Scotch?

I prefer the single malts but unfortunately my preferences typically exceed my financial status, ergo they're relegated to special occasions. I lean to the smoky malts as opposed to the highlands so my day-to-day whisky was Teachers, which contains more of those malts in its blend than any...
