    My Almost Road Rage

I've never understood why cig smokers can't put the damned butt in the ash tray!

After the trials and tribulations I've outline in my "Disappointed in a Peterson" thread, I finally have a Pete SH Squire in the rack. I'm planning a leisurely after-lunch session today with some British Woods...

    Disappointed in a Peterson

Well wonder of wonders! Shortly after I filed for a refund the tracking picked up, and the pipe arrived yesterday! It's nicely grained, although typical of Peterson's offerings it doesn't carry through evenly on the pipe, but there is figure throughout. I can't see any obvious fills or laws...

Sid, I apologize if this has been asked and answered previously, but would you might sharing with me the significance of the beads in your photos? Thanks...

When did the Danish pipe boom start in North America?

The first "Danish" pipe I recall seeing was during my college years so it would have been around1965-1970 or so. I thought the pipe in this Flying Dutchman ad was the coolest things I'd ever seen and just had to have one... I found one very like it, too. It had a very nice straight grain...

    Disappointed in a Peterson

It seems I am destined NOT to own this pipe! It's been a month since I placed the order (from England) and the last tracking update was May 22. I fear it's lost; I filed a request for a refund today  .

Made it out today to throw a few in advance of the big rains forecast for the next couple days. They were bitin' for my little Fenwick glass 4wt. Enjoyed a couple bowls of EGR in my SH Strand...

    RYO and MYO

Used to; ain't done it in years. I had one of those hand roller thingies but mostly it was a pack of papers and a pouch of something or other. It used to raise some eyebrows back in the 60's, that's for sure! Prolly not looking to start again...

    Disappointed in a Peterson

I'm sure that's true but as long as it ain't huge I'm OK with it. I have a SH Strand in the dark and really like it; beautiful grain, and if there a fill I can't see it...

    Disappointed in a Peterson

Ordered another Squire, this one on ebay from Harrison Simmonds. They were super helpful; sent me detailed photos of the two they had in stock and I picked the one I preferred. I told them my story of the last one and asked them to look this one over carefully for flaws since they're in...

Cool, cloudy, blustery...it seemed like a Danish morning for some reason. Two of the earliest pipes I own, and seldom smoked any more because I've gravitated to larger pipes. The straight one with the triangular shank is stamped "Navigator", and the curved pipe "Tabago", and both made in...

Royal Danish! There's a name I haven't heard in a while. I still have two from back in my "Danish shape" days, mostly I suppose because I figure they won't bring anything on the estate market. Thanks for the reminder; I think I'll give them a go!

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Very well could be; I had several of their house pipes in my collection years ago and always wondered who made them. The top pipe (bent Dublin? Zulu? Yachtsman?) with its oval shank has been a favorite for years. The photo doesn't show it but it has a very nice pronounced nearly straight...
