Blends to help get off of cigarettes

It's tough, but be encouraged that a lot of us have done this. I actually avoided Virginia blends simply because they reminded me the most of cigarettes and that seemed to intensify the craving rather than assuage it. Instead, I got seriously into English blends and found that filling two...

    Drucquer's

I bought my first decent pipe and great English tobacco at Druquer's on University Ave. while I was at Cal in 1980-6. The other shop on Salano Ave. in Piedmont was good, but the older place had all that history and a fair amount of nicotine build up on the walls. I didn't know enough to...

    Bulleit Rye 95

Grabbed a bottle of this last week by mistake, luckily; it was misfiled on the bourbon shelf in my local State Store. It's quite nice, and now I'm interested in Ryes, so it was a happy error.

Whats the word on pit bulls?

Every dog has it's own personality of course, but I once house sat an American Staffordshire Terrier (a kind of Pit Bull) and was offered an opportunity to adopt him; he was an extremely nice dog. A friend of mine, who was a breeder, remarked that dogs are bred for different purposes, and...

    HELP! My coffee sucks!

Exactly. If you stick with a coffee maker, though, turn it off after you pour the first cup ad use a microwave to heat up a fresh cup. Coffee sitting on a warming element will go bitter fast.
