    P&C Situation Rectified

So I ordered on IPSD at P&C since they were having a 15% off everything. I ordered just over $100 worth (after discount) to get the free shipping. Everything was listed as In Stock when I ordered BUT P&C had just done a software update/change for their inventory software and it was incorrect...

    F & K Lancer Slices - Production issues? Discontinued?

I noticed that Lancer Slices is out of stock at both P&C and SP and has been for a while. Is there something up with it? I'm hoping it's just a source issue and not it being discontinued.

If Vacuum Sealing Stops Aging Does It Stop Lat Degradation?

So I think the general consensus is that vacuum sealing tobacco basically stops the ageing process, or at least slows it to an extreme crawl. Also I believe that latakia degrades after peaking in 5-7 or so. SO, if vacuum sealing basically stops the ageing process would that also stop latakia...

Well it's been fun, we're beyond boned

http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm499234.htm In short any cigar or pipe tobacco blend that did not exist prior to 2/15/2007 will be pulled from the market and will not likely be able to be re-introduced because of the insane cost to get approval. This is pretty much...

26 Pounds of Whole Leaf Ready to Be Turned Into Smoking Good

Just got a shipment of 26 pounds of tobacco from LeafOnly.com. 17 of it is cigar tobacco. The rest is a few different orientals, couple different VAs, some Dark Fired, and some Burley. Smoked some of the DF straight. That stuff has a serious nic kick.

Can't Find the Article About the Science of Using Matches

I remember reading an article on why you should use matches and the science behind it. I just can't seem to find that article. I thought it was Greg Pease who wrote it, but I can't seem to find it on his site. Anyone know where that is? Or any other article about the science of pipes.

How Come No One Sells Vauen Pipe Cleaners?

Vauen pipe cleaners have been the best cleaners I've ever used. I mean the BJ Long cleaners are ok, but they leave so much fluff behind. I snagged Vauen cleaners at a B&M years ago but never see them online and they're like 5 bucks on Amazon. Are there any other tapered cleaners that leave...

Will we see tinned Amphora? Seems expensive for pouched

Amphora costs $68 a pound. Man, that's expensive for a pouch packaged tobacco. Seems like for that money we should be getting tins. St Bruno ready rubbed is even worse at almost $150 a pound which makes it by far the most expensive non-tinned tobacco as far as I can find (Tabac Manil comes in...

How are Samuel Gawith 250g boxes packaged inside?

I'm assuming the contents of the 250g boxes are in some kind of plastic. Is it good quality packaging like Esoterica uses so I can just be left in the boxes for years without worry or is it kinda flimsy and should be jarred upon arrival?

Is it just me? John Cotton's Smyrna vs Balkan Sobranie?

Is it just me or is JC Smyrna really similar to the current production of Balkan Sobranie? There are some differences but they're minor. There just isn't that well fermented texture of the JC but the base notes feel the same to me.

    Flat Jaws for Lathe Chuck

I have a WoodRiver 4 Jaw chuck for my lathe but all the jaws on the market seem to be rounded. Any idea where I could get flat so I can chuck briar a little more securely? Also, is there any way to add balance out the spin since the blocks are off centered all the time.

Corn Cobs and Harsh Smoke When New?

So I got a bunch of cobs because I wanted to try blends that I normally wouldn't smoke so I wouldn't taint a briar if I didn't like it. Do cobs need a break in period? I find that everything tastes the same in new cobs. I tried a blend that I really like out of my briars and it wasn't the...
