I was given a beautifully restored MATTNER pot with saddle stem by a friend. This pipe smokes like a champ and it's got beautiful bird's eye grain which I love. Any of the BoB know more about this brand, please?

Yes. That's why I fitted a longer stem to mine. This is one lovely pipe and an excellent smoker, takes any tobacco in it's stride. A must have!!

The Diplomat and Country Gentleman are my favourite cob shapes. And I agree, the Legend is a tad small for my liking. I've also got a Dagner Poker which I smoke a lot. A bit more expensive but worth the money spent
