You just can't beat a pipe from Ron. Not only are they a work of art, but his engineering is perfect...like ftrplt, I have 3 also, and consider them to be heirloom pipes.

I've got 3 of Ron's pipes...the first was a Christmas present that he sent me...he knew that I couldn't afford one of his pipes and he wanted to make my Christmas a little brighter. That is the kind of man that Ron is..he puts his heart and soul into everything he creates, and I say creates...

I don't have as many pipes as many others do..I gave many of my older Comoys to a good friend and several BSP pipes to another. But the pipes that Ron of RdPipes made...those I will never get rid of under any circumstance. They are the best smokers that I have including those 1960 Comoys back...

Dogs are the best people I know. We have had 4 rescues and they were a blessing to both me and my wife. We just rescued a 12 year old Yorkie whom no one seemed to want because of her age. Being old ourselves, we understand and decided to adopt her...she is a total delight, sleeps in the bed...

While I haven't been on in a coons age...I just had to tell you what beautiful work your brother-in-law does. Still enjoying the knives that Blackhorse put together for me...told my son-in-law that I left them to him when I finally leave this earthly plane.

Thanks, Guys...appreciate the well wishes...haven't been around much lately, but this was the forum that got me interested in going back to my pipes...many great folks here, some we have lost to time...Fatman, Sante (fishnbanjo), both were true heroes in my book...this was my home base for many...

I am saddened, but not shocked...he was a hero, a true hero...He, like many of his brothers in arms, paid the ultimate price for his efforts in Viet Nam. He was always a man whom despised advertising what he did for others...he enjoyed his pipes and tobacco, and he enjoyed the companionship of...

I also use cold strong coffee that I wet a rag with and clean the tar off...some invert the rim of the chamber in cold coffee for a couple hours and it wipes right off...never had any issues arise from that method.

Decided to stain my new "bully"...used Fiebings black on the top and saddle tan on the bottom and shank.  I find that since rim char occurs in most of my cobs that a black rim would not only enhance the appearance but also hide the rim char a little better. Made a few new tampers also...stuff...
