FYI - Peretti's Thanksgiving Day - Available on November 1

From Peretti's Facebook page: Available for Purchase November 1st. Thanksgiving Day is a tradition here at Peretti. Burley of various cuts, Virginia and a blend of rum and fruit juices are mixed and rested, set in a press where the tobacco marries under pressure for 2 days and is subsequently...

    2015/16 NFL Season

Well the Seahawks crashed in their regular season debut 34 to 31 against the Rams. In recent years the Seahawks can't beat these guys at home. The Seahwaks offensive line continues to be a concern, Mr. Automatic Hauschka blew the OT kickoff setting up great field position leading to the game...

Get On Up - James Brown bio-pic

I finally saw this movie over the weekend and really thought it was a weak effort in general. I found it to be convoluted and confusing with all the back and forth in time scene cuts, lack of character's being defined, so so script, etc. The upside is most of the acting was good to very good...

    Sneak Attack!

I received a few incoming rounds yesterday much to my surprise. Damage was substantial. The bomber turns out to be Squadron Co-Commander, WarlockBob. I figure he's still learning his job after the promotion and forgot to have his compass and other nav systems calibrated prior to a test flight...

    Stanley Cup Playoffs start today!

Any hockey fans out there? Who do you like to take the Cup? I'm a life long Red Wings fan and while I think they're a long shot, anything can happen during the playoffs.

    Thoughts on Dunhill the Aperitif?

On a whim I bought a tin of this many months ago, tried it and wasn't very impressed ultimately so I put the tin aside. Truth be told I've never been a big fan of Dunhill blends, I've tried many over the years but never really got on with any of them in a lasting way. So last week wanting...

    MATCH Balkan Sobranie 759

At P&C - Balkan Sobranie 759 Has anyone tried this blend? They don't ship to WA state or I'd give it a shot, also I really enjoy Peretti's Royal Blend which is sort of close to the real deal but is very good in its own right imo.

My Impressions - G.L. Pease Sixpence

My impressions after 5 bowls in my Brigham 559 5 dot I've dedicated to VaPers; after a bit of a rocky start I'm really enjoying Sixpence. The cut is sort of a broken flake, the flakes are split lengthwise but still held together if that makes sense, and the flakes are fairly thick. It took me...

    Garth Brooks vid

I saw this and teared up. I'm not a country music guy but I'm now a big fan of Garth Brooks. I can't say enough about what he did here. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SUgeyDb7ZXA" frameborder="0" loading="lazy" allowfullscreen ></iframe>

Pipe mud and a too deep chamber

I have a Paradis (made in Montreal) 3/4 bent estate that has quite a gap between the bottom of the draft hole and the bottom of the chamber and will never build cake in the bottom of the bowl as is. I've read this can be remedied by building up the bottom of the chamber with pipe mud to bring...

    Sutliff Kasimir

I received a tin last week and finally got to try it this weekend. Wow, what a beautiful blend. I bet I went through ten bowls and thoroughly enjoyed each one. I ordered more this morning. Has anyone else tried this one? Besides JimInks of course. 8)

    Sutliff 1849 - My impressions

A few months ago I received a tin as part of a larger order and was excited to give it a try. However after working hard to get the tin opened, and my eventual disappointing smoking experience, I closed the tin as best I could and set it aside. The tin's wall was distorted by my use of a...

    Seattle Pipe Club?

I finally got around to signing up per Brewdude's recommendation when I first joined BoB, and I'm curious if there are other members lurking here? I did notice their forum is pretty stale.

    Mr. B's Golden Virginia Flake

I received a 50g tin as part of a really great pipe smokers dream birthday gift this weekend from a Canadian friend. From what I've been able to find out so far this is a Brigham product but is actually blended in Germany. I haven't gotten into it yet and was wondering if anyone here has tried...

Mac Baren's HH Old Dark Fired Ready Rubbed (bulk) vs Tinned

I just got a tin of ODF which is flaked and see that it's available in bulk but as Ready Rubbed. Can anyone tell me if I can expect the RR to taste the same as the flaked? I would think it wouldn't be the same but maybe I'm wrong, and hoping I am. Rob
