I was checking out those ‘21 Christmas pipes. Wish they weren’t so dark…. I was also digging the silver army mount as well. I think the 104 and 68 maybe it was 69

    Peterson recommendation?

I’m looking to buy a new pipe for the first time in ages and I have always wanted a Pete. A couple have caught my eye, esp the Irish Harp series. I tend to really love a pipe that is right in the mid range when it comes to price (maybe low end for some). For me a $75-$125 savinelli or Stanwell...

To me, the new GLP Penny Farthing has some qualities that I think you’re describing. Also SG St. James Flake. When it’s right it’s very plummy and deep reminds me of dates or raisins.

    Sutliff 515 RC-1

This stuff is a real banger! That Virgina tang is in full force here and puffed slowly remains throughout. As the bowl went on and if I pushed it I got some deeper, earthy bready notes but always a backdrop to that classic Virginia zing! Only one bowl in but I’m very impressed with Sutliff 515...

Egg man, that’s good to hear! I’ve been meaning to buy/try the Dark Twist for forever and I’ve finally gotten around to it. Yes I love the va blends!

What is your quintessential summer blend?

This is a great thread! For me, gotta be SG St James flake! I also have been going at my Solani Silver flake as well and MacBaren ODF when looking for a rich campfire type of smoke. Don’t do too much Latakia in the summer but I do smoke Virgina blends often in the winter.

I really wanted the Simply Red from WC but sold out like most good VAs these days. Nope didn’t sell any kidneys, or kids... maybe made them skip lunch for a week! Lol. Of course I’ll have to deal with a grumpy wife for a day or so. Seriously good to be back on there though. Finally got my...

    Baby Nater arrived today!!!

Thank you everyone! From the bottom of my heart... and yes my wife is incredible! Yesterday, just 3 days after delivering our baby she made a huge meal for me, herself, the boys, and my dad who was over helping me build a hearth for the new living room. Honestly, it still hasn’t sunk in but I...

    So many Cigars

Smoking the Fuente Reserva tonight (right now actually). It’s really nice. A little pepper, some spice, and seems like a little earthy leatheriness. It’s really, very good! I think I’ll try a Hemingway next, but just wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions. This is a nice change of pace...
