    Virginia Perique cigars

Yes it is lol. If you’ve never heard that podcast, they have had most of the major players from the last 50 yrs on to talk about the business.

    Virginia Perique cigars

I thought the American spirit company bought out the Percy Martin operation, and Mark Ryan bought into (or out) the other smaller farmers. I seem to remember hearing something like that when Mark Ryan was on the Pipes Magazine radio show telling his tale. I don’t remember which episode, but they...

    Virginia Perique cigars

I’m not sure that’s a bad problem to have long term. I think the largest producer of perique is now exclusively working for a cigarette company. I wanna say Martin? American Spirit black label, one of the few cigarettes still worth smoking, imo.

Anybody planning a Spring or Summer fun trip yet?

Maybe she dealt with some sort of minor car sickness.

Anybody planning a Spring or Summer fun trip yet?

Long drives are a great passion of mine too. I’d rather drive 20 hrs in 2 days than fly 2 hrs to get to the same place. The drive is half the fun of a vacation for me. I’m considering taking my boys to a camping weekend in Ohio for the Pathfinder gathering with Dave Canterbury this summer. Gas...

Anybody planning a Spring or Summer fun trip yet?

My wife and her mother are taking the kids out on a cruise to the Bahamas this summer. Provided the kids don’t need to be jabbed. They have a big credit with the cruise line from all the craziness when all the cruises were canceled they still haven’t used. The dog and I will be enjoying some...

    Smoking vests?

I’ve settled on the LL bean ultimate flannel for my smoking jacket. It looks nice, but isn’t fancy. It has pockets like a jacket, and buttons up like a dress shirt. I think if I need more than four pockets for pipe supplies, I need to reevaluate my load out. I’ve come love it over the years.

    Look at what I found

I work private residential garbage in a wealthy shoreline town in ct. I find all kinds of stuff when people move out. Boxes full of new things I can’t afford, and sometimes knives lol.

A cob I know you will all like and want.

I didn’t know they did silver work on cobs. Talk about rims on a tractor lol. That’s pretty cool. I have about 4 premium cobs at this point, and they are great.

    Look at what I found

It’s enormous for a pocket knife too. The guard and pommel stick out in my hand.

    Look at what I found

A Western Knife Co two blade hunter. It was made sometime in the 1950s, I would guess. Nice little fish and game knife. It’s a little beat up, but shiny ones sell for big bucks on knife collector sites. Amazing what people throw away.

Does anyone here keep a Bullet Journal?

Oh, I see. I don’t journal, or keep a schedule/ day planner. I do put reminders for things in my phone occasionally though. My bad, I didn’t understand what you meant. I just saw bullet and thought gun lol.

Does anyone here keep a Bullet Journal?

I don’t know if it applies, but I keep a journal of sorts when I get a new muzzleloader. I am a traditional style shooter, so working on the correct formula of the load package is time consuming, but very rewarding once you get it dialed in. Sometimes it takes multiple days on the range to get...

    FOP Zone…sign in please!

I thought this was gonna be for pipe smoking dandy men, lol. I can see to my relief we haven’t devolved that far. Carry on gentlemen.

    Any ideas anyone???

I once watched a YouTube video from a guy who does restoration work talking about his bowl coating. He mixed sour cream with activated charcoal from capsules. Let it dry a day or so, and shipped em out. I usually just use Prince Albert myself though.

    Great Pukko - Great Deal

Personally, I don’t see the use of carbon steel in the field. I’m not a big fan of rusting. It’s great in the kitchen or workshop though. I’ve come to like cpm 154, I think it has a pretty good balance between edge retention, rust resistance and toughness.

    Great Pukko - Great Deal

I had a bravo necker 2 I was pocket carrying for a year or so, but wanted something more substantial, and this one fit the bill. It’s a little beat up these days, but it serves me well. The edge is still pretty mint with just stropping at 3k and 6k grit compound. I’ve been wearing it on my belt...
