    white whales.

I got it for a song. That's the guide I followed to come up with the 94 date. I wish every pipe maker would have something to ID the year, it's a really cool thing about Dunhills.

    white whales.

Are they rare? I happen to have found one at a flea market. I know it's a nice pipe, I don't actually know what it's worth. I'm pretty sure it's made in 1994.

    'Restoring' a no-name estate.

Thanks for the tips Ontariopiper. Having a little color mismatch wouldn't bother me much on this one, but I really like the idea of a silver band. That would really look good.

    'Restoring' a no-name estate.

I ordered a couple clay pipes on ebay..   There were two little clay pipes, and two 'wood' pipes.  I bought it just for the clay, because they looked like fun (and it is.) ~$13 including shipping, seemed OK to try the two clay pipes. One of the wood pipes was like an MM Ozark in shape but not...

    What are you smoking?

First bowl of Gawaith Full Virginia Flake in a Brigham Chinook Bent Billiard.... Starting to really get into the Va tobaccos.

    Non System Brigham?

Thanks for the info. There are no dots on it. The only marking is the word Brigham. It doesn't show signs of use, it's in really great shape if it were a pre 1937 pipe... Maybe it was re-stemmed, and the dots disappeared. But in that case, I would expect more signs of wear. In any case...

    Non System Brigham?

I picked up this pipe on eBay recently, and enjoyed a few bowls of Virginia with it this weekend.   I really like it. But I'm not sure if I know exactly what I've got my hands on.  It does say Brigham, and the lettering looks to me, like the lettering on Pipedia for Brigham pipes: But it...

    What are you smoking?

Russ Oulette Frenchy`s Sunzabitches in a GBD straight sitter. Also have a Bowl of 2100 classic Virginia ready in a MM bent Ozark, and a glass of Fat Tire.

    2nd attempt at a Bulldog

I saw that chair leg groove, and thought it really popped, and made the pipe even more unique... I would have thought it was totally an artistic flair until I read this. :) (I still like it.) Beautiful pipe, and I really love the color.

For my Birthday, my daughter got this Flogglewerks churchwarden.  It's a fun pipe. Then I picked up an eBay GBD: And then another good deal on another GBD, this is my favorite pipe so far. Did you say 3? I have this Ben Wade Skater on the way.  It's used, and a previous owner switched...

    pipe filters

So. The first time I smoked a bowl after learning how to pack it, instead of just dumping some in was like discovering something new.... Now, smoking as slow as possible, is another realm of discovery. I'm enjoying my tobacco even more, and getting better flavors. Its not even something that...

    pipe filters

That's good advice Cartaphilus. I am going to focus on my technique. One thing is for sure, I have a lot of trial and error ahead of me, and I'm looking forward to all of it.

    pipe filters

I appreciate all the feedback... I've been trying to compare things like the same tobacco in my unfiltered pipe, vs my filtered pipes etc. I've also cut the 6mm paper filters in half, vs full size, and smoked the filter pipe sans filter. I think that I'm going to buck the trend and say that...

    Growing collection.

This thread is getting pretty funny. It appears I'm well and truly hooked. :) I asked my wife if she had any cotton balls yesterday, she directed me to them, and started to ask why I needed them, then stopped and said, 'It's for your pipes, isn't it?' :D She was right. I was using them...

There is really only one reason to post such images as these:   At some point in the future, when I have a few dozen tobaccos and a half dozen pipes  :?: , it'll be a nice comparison. About a month ago. A few weeks ago. Today. I'm up to 3 briars, the last two being really cheap estate...

Hello from Mark Twain National Forest!

Welcome. I'd be interested in seeing your carved pipes if you find the time to post pics.

    What are you smoking?

McClellan 2010 Classic Virginia in a H.I.S. Economy Briar #25... Tall mug of Boddingtons pub ale next to me. This tobacco didn't taste like much when I started, but the taste gets better the farther down the bowl I go.... interesting that way.
