    2020 Thanksgiving Menu

RSteve, (as I started saying over on the "coffee pod" thread) I like your idea of parting out the bird first. It would be a great way to make sure that all the cuts get cooked to order. For several years now I have been "buttonholed" with doing a smoked turkey. Can't complain, I started it...

I'm sure I can't help with the OCD... I would first have to apply the wisdom of "physician heal thyself" and I' not a physician, lol! However, It occurs to me that what ever system you choose, you will normally start with "fresh water" anyway right? Just sayin'. Oh, btw, I just read your post...

I suppose it depends on the machine and the design of the K-cup. We have an old style Keurig that we've been using about 8-10 years (we always use filtered water and do the white vinegar cleaning periodically) we're on a second set of personal K-cups. I have always filed the K-cup level with...

    Hearing Loss

Hey Boats, I was where you are a couple years ago. The VA is very good and provide some of the best aids available. They also make it easy to get resupplied with batteries and wax filters. I think you'll be pleased! Take care!

    Does BIC...

Hey Corncobcon, I been thinking about your lighter issue and when I was in "Wallyworld" today I did some searching for any solution to your problem as I understand it. Some time ago, I bought a Ronson pipe lighter there (about $8). It has worked well and I believe the igniter is quite gentle...

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Yes, AZ sunrises are spectacular, I'm on the opposite coast, but I still own property in Yuma. I agree that not stewing over the election is a challenge, I even ate beef stew for supper. Also, I enjoyed a bowl of Revolution Tabac in a vintage Carey... helped the stress.

A couple of things I like about the personal k-cups: better price over the pre-filed ones and if you grind your own beans you know how fresh it is and you can fill the cup full. I've opened a few off the pre-filed ones to find them lacking. I pack mine as full as I can while still being able to...

I suggest getting a couple of personal K-cups and use the grind of your choice just like putting any good tobacco in a cob. I've used the same pod for years with many different coffees.

    What's your favorite coffee?

My fav at this point is Kenya AA, but my everyday 2d best is "Columbian Supremo" (Members Mark, Sam's Club, about $15 for 2.5 lbs). It's a medium-dark roast, whole bean. We use a Cuisinart burr mill and a Keurig set at 190° brew temp and fill personal K-Cups. My "contigo" travel mug is too tall...
