    New member (Hello)

Welcome, indeed. I, for one, would be very interested in hearing more about the project. Do you have plans to re -instantiate production?

    I know I belong to a bygone world because…

I join the conversation late to say: you are correct, sir! Also, nice reference. My reply may sound flippant. It is not. I was speaking with colleagues today about the profound narcissistic and solipsistic attitudes of college students in the past few years. You are not alone in being...

    Hello from Saint Louis!

Welcome! I grew up in St. Louis. It is good to hear from another Missourian. I'm still finding my way through tobaccos. My most recent favorite is C&D's Professor. The flavor is good, and it smokes well.

How do you all take your coffee?

Me, too, Blackhorse. There's little better than coffee that's roasted at home, and Sweet Maria's has great equipment and great prices on green beans. On the other hand, I've never grown and aged my own tobacco, so maybe there's some competition out there for the top slot in the "homegrown"...

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Charley, Thanks for sharing that bit of wisdom. It probably belongs in its own thumb-tacked post somewhere. I've been wondering how your work with the meers would come out. I wonder: have you tried buffing some of the pieces that have taken up color? Is it just in the wax, or is the wax...

Hail and well met from Lancaster, Ohio

Hey, ya! Welcome and well-met. What's your favorite pipe and or tobacco? For what it is worth (turn and turn about being fair play), mine is one that I bought as an "estate" (used) - see below. For my money, this beauty fits my fingers perfectly. I'm still testing out tobaccos to find the...

    What Are You Smoking Pages.

Geez, Charlie, I would say you are right! The color is beautiful. Did you smoke the pipe after waxing it, or is the change in color just the effect of the wax on the surface of the meer? Either way, it looks great! Book

    Got stoned this past weekend!

Blackhorse, I am glad that you have a better reaction to hospitals than I. I am, I will freely admit, somewhat phobic. For the rest of it, I will keep my fingers crossed, too. May every last thing come to pass smoothly. (Both pun and best-wishes intended.) Best (seriously, kidney stones...

    Help ID this meerschaum

Very nice, sobx! Good job of spotting some beautiful pipes, and nice job on the research. I would not have been able to help with the identification, but I join everyone else in admiring the shape of the pipe and the carving. Also, $40 for the first one and $30 for the second? Sheesh! Well...

    Hello from Birmingham, Alabama

Hi, there! That is a nice collection! Welcome to the group. I'd say that you are in the right place on the web. I'll probably be back in Birmingham in Feb/March for a conference. If you find a good place to hang out for a smoke, let me know! Maybe we can organize a BoB round-table.
