    Samuel Gawith Trading Cards?

Judging from the telephone number the card - if not the tin of tobacco - must date back to before April 1995. After that all UK telephone numbers had a 1 inserted after the initial zero with SG's number now being 01539 720117.

Looking for a "zesty" "citrusy" or "lemon" Virginia flake

GH Bright CR Flake - I have not had any for a few years but I noted it as having a natural citrus taste

    Kiribi lighters?

Imco were cheap and reliable - a rare combination - but they stopped producing lighters some time ago. I think I read that some of their designs has been purchased by a Chinese company and that they were producing a redesigned Imco but how reliable that would be I don't know. Just found the...

All of the above - as infrequently as possible

    coffee snuff

Interesting how people's senses / tastes differ. To me the Abraxas Cafe 11 is very much coffee in your nose and is outstanding. I can't recollect which variety of roasted coffee bean it reminds me of but it is one of the lighter varieties. At the back of my mind I am thinking Blue Mountain but...

    A Good Read

Many thanks for the link. I enjoyed reading the article and the reader comments section was also unusually civilised and thoughtful.

    should get interesting

Good luck with the FUBARs and let us know how you get on. On the basis of reviews I have kept well clear of them as I take snuff for pleasure rather than blasting my head off. However there was one review that came from Abraxas about the Shot of Rum. Now that man knows how to make snuff so...

    What are you snuffing?

I only wish that my work area was so tidy and well organised. Even more I wish I had as many pipes and such a supply of pipe tobacco and snuff. I can quite understand the distractions.

    BoB - Forumotion?

It certainly is - just got here for the first time in days by my normal route rather than via the forumotion front page. Cheers and Thanks

    daily snuff

Slide beat me to it there. I have one of each and have just ordered another Snuffhouse box. I think I prefer those to the Mr.Snuff boxes as they are more the size of an old fashioned wooden box that I used to have - but lost. But I also use old Toque tins - just peel the label off and give...

UK brothers please read and comment

I have to agree with that. But just to confuse issues how about the EU giving subsidies to grow tobacco? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/telegraph-view/9844515/More-of-our-money-going-up-in-smoke.html So we should not smoke but our taxes should be used to pay farmers to grow tobacco! There...

    Cellaring Ennerdale

Yes I have that problem. I'm not sure that I will ever get round to cellaring Ennerdale in the quantity required for it to age for a few years. It is more a case of attempting to keep a large reserve supply and even that does not work! I realised recently that what I had thought was a...

I've got some spare change lying around somewhere. I will count it up and see what I can do.

    The white wizard

That is one very good looking pipe. I tend to prefer old fashioned standard shapes but once in a while I see something different that calls to me - that one is singing to me. I hope the buyer treasures it.

    Pipe Reaction

Interesting and clever but not my style. But pipes are a very personal thing and I am sure someone will think it is just what they want and will be very happy with it. Each to their own and that is the way it should be. I am sure some of the pipes I love would be dismissed by others but that...

    A VERY SAD day

A sad story that your friend has gone but an inspiring story in the way you spent time with him. As others have said here that was a wonderful thing to do and I am sure that it brightened his days. He will live on in your memory - particularly when you smoke one of his pipes.

    Here's Snuff In Your Eye

Happy to hear there was no accident and that you recovered. I've never managed to get snuff in my eyes but I know that it happens quite frequently and is very painful. As Slide mentioned do make sure not to wipe your eyes when you have snuff on your fingers. How are you doing with the various...

    Grasmere Flake?

I have never seen it in tins even here in the UK. In fact finding any GH tobacco in tins seems to be rather difficult these days. But it is worth finding in bulk if you wish to have a good flake tobacco with only a slight "Lakelands" aroma / taste.
