I know it was more of a teenibopper scifi fantasy book but I kinda dug The Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini, I think he was only like 15 when he started writing it, Eragon the movie was a total turd, but hey the books were pretty cool.

As much as I take issue with adults reading books written for teens, I'll admit to having read and enjoyed the first two books in the series. In the second book, though, the authors age and experience, or lack there of, really started to show throw. Still, I did enjoy the story and I'll probably finish the series eventually.

I also read the Hunger Games, and that one just left me shaking my head.

It kind of struck me as star wars with dragons really.
