Cigar at Disney Empty
PostSubject: Cigar at Disney   Cigar at Disney EmptyFri Nov 16, 2012 9:06 pm

So....I just decided I'm not the "Disney" type of guy. We are on the final hours of a full week's Disney family vacation, and I can't wait to get home. My wife really wanted to take the kids to Disney, and after I realized it was just one of those things that was going to happen, whether I liked it or not, we got here.

I could write a book about why I don't like Disney...but over all we did have a decent time. Now I need a real vacation Mad

So, tonight we went to Downtown Disney and walked around. I passed by a cigar store called Sosa Family Cigars and thought maybe I could get just a piece of home with a good cigar. I ended up picking one of their own family cigars...I figured, why not. Not trying one would be like going to a new restaurant and not trying the house special.

Well, the cigar probably wasn't that bad, but I felt like a convict or something smoking it,.. out there on the streets with all those scowling mothers holding their noses. I found myself trying to sneak puffs and find discrete ways of blowing out the smoke. I mostly couldn't wait to finish it.

Oh well. Hopefully no more Disney vacations or sneaking cigar smokes for me!

I have been in the exact same spot brother and did the exact same thing. To top it off, if you stay at a Disney resort (as we have a few times), you aren't allowed to even smoke on the balcony. I usually find some way to go for a walk and sneek one in, but I stil get the feeling that people are watching me. I got over it on the trip there this past summer and just don't care any more what people think. The odd thing is, if you like cigars, the Corona cigar store in Orlando is one of the best I have been to, outside of Havana anyway. But none of that goodness crosses the Disney chasm.

Nothing worse that feeling that you have to hurry a smoke. I am on the verge of an immenent Disney excursion myself. Unfortunately Disney is so deeply engrained in our kid's lives that we parents, generation after generation, continue to get sucked up by it.

Here's to vacations that aren't at all relaxing. cheers

Fortunately, Disney is only a fraction of the cost of having kids, and hopefully mine will have a great time there, always remember it, and then grow up to realize what a financial sham it all is. Razz

We went, stayed cheap, ate cheap, and really enjoyed ourselves. Granted, I didn't smoke, but I set it aside for the week. No biggie.

Last time I went, the Cigar Store on Main Street
was still there and you could smoke in many places.
I wish I had a Disney pipe, but I was a cigar smoker then.
I suppose it's a challenge to grab a smoke there these days. pale
