Off to hike the Iron Ore trail up to Hoops Hole. Have about a 2300 foot climb ahead of us. Everyone have a great weekend.

Ok, this was quite the adventure. After climbing for two miles to get to our base campsite we discover there's no water. So now it's another 3 miles to the next one. During which time I have a ledge on the trail give way and dump me into a ravine. Luckily I got hung up on a tree. Unluckily I pulled my hamstring. So now I limp for the next 1.5 miles. So when we get to the other campsite there's water, just barely. After that things improved greatly. Anyhoo here's some pics.

We boiled the water naturally. The trip back was quite pleasant. Of course going down instead of up always is. Wink

Hey, if everything went perfectly, you'd have no good stories to tell.

My brother suggested I write a book, "Mountains I've Fallen Off in Virginia".

That's funny but I'm glad your injury wasn't more serious. That is really some beautiful country you're in up there. Smile

Yea, me too! Very Happy I could go out west and write sequels, "Cascade Falls", "Falling the Sierra Nevada's", and of course "Rocky Mountain High Falls".
