Heat Stroke? Empty
PostSubject: Heat Stroke?   Heat Stroke? EmptySat Sep 24, 2016 8:56 pm

Guess I spent too much time in the sun working on a room addition. I thought I drank enough water, but I suppose that wasn't enough. With the siding opened up so I can tie the new frame and glue lam to existing structure, I am pushing to get things buttoned up before the next rains. Maybe pushed too hard. Dizzy with hot flashes and I'm freezing in an 78 degree house.

No bueno, amigos. Avoid this if you can..............

Urk Wiz, that's not cool Smile stay hydrated and wear a big hat. Hope you're feeling better and wish I could pop over and help out with the extension.

Sometimes when we push ourselves to get things done quickly, come back to bite us and cause of more time loss.
Think more of your body then your work at hand sir, you'll live longer..........I hope. Wink

Had the beginning of heat stroke back in my mid-20's whilst attending a motorcycle event. Quite hot and humid, I had no hat, and failed to hydrate properly. All the beverages that were available were soda pop and beer, and somehow the cola I had didn't make it any better. And no, I didn't want beer since I'd had a bit too much of that the night before at the campground - which probably also contributed to the dehydration!

There was no plain water available anywhere on the track, so finally found a stand selling cartons of milk. Had a few of those and it put me right, plus I stayed in the shade.

Hope you're feeling more chipper now Ozzie.

Cheers,

RR

That was dangerously close to being disastrous. Learn from it! Now take a couple of days off to let your body recuperate and please try to be more careful. So what if the room doesn't get finished in the next week or so? Your family needs you way more than the room. We kinda like having you around here too. cheers
