Alright, I need some guidance with some Cobs Empty
PostSubject: Alright, I need some guidance with some Cobs   Alright, I need some guidance with some Cobs EmptyFri Jun 16, 2017 10:46 pm

I've got a bunch of quality cobs (Missouri Meerschaum, Dagner/Missouri Meerschaum), and the only time I fired some tobak up in one it didn't seem too great.

I knew I was missing the mark but put the couple away and figgered I'd get on with it when summertime hours came calling. Well, I hear the whispers of the lovers as they roll on riverbanks, and the skeeters stingin' all around the fleshy upper flanks............Did I capture the mood of the season?

If so, then lend me a hand PLEASE and steer me into the magical world of COBS!

As always, your contributions and help are much appreciated.

They taste like cardboard when new. Here, try this, by John Patton:

Jake Hackert makes some great cobs. They cost a little more that the garden variety MM cobs, but well worth it. Anywhere from $35 to $45. You have to check this site everyday because when they come up, they go fast. I've found all cobs take a few smokes to lose the corn taste. Myself I love it, it goes nicely with a good Virginia. Give the cob another few bowls and see how you go.

Cheers

You didn't say what tobaccos you tried, personally I'd go with a burley or something with burley in it to break it in, cobs and burley go together like ham and cheese. I love breaking in a Cob and don't mind the Cob taste at all but not everyone does, regards.
