From Bill Feuerbach today...

Gentleman,

It is that time of year again. Its amazing how fast time flies the
older we get.  I have been getting numerous phone
calls and emails concerning this years event so I figured I better get
this email out.

In keeping with our tradition, we will once again hold the event on the
second Saturday of December.  This year that makes the date December
14th, the latest its ever been.   Hopefully that won't interfere with
too many pre-holiday plans you may have.  For those who maybe haven't
been here before, this event is part Holiday Party, part Pipe Show and
part Smoking Contest, the largest smoking contest in the US outside of
the National event in Chicago.  For many its the highlight of the pipe
smoking year.  I tend to agree.  Attached you will find the flyer and
the registration form.  We did have a slight bump in costs but still
worth the amount.

I expect we'll have most of the same exhibitors as last year.  Last
year we had Steve Monjure, Paul Bonacquisti, Kaywoodie, Andy Camire,
Rolando Negoita, Joe Skoda, Tim Hynick, Dr. Bob Keiss and Neil of
Smokin Holsters.  I'll update the list in pre-event emails if any of
these guys can't make it or if we have any new exhibitors. If anybody
is reserving a table to exhibit or sell from please email me back how
many you'd like.  My cost on the tables is $10 for an 8 footer so
that's all I'll ask from you.  You can add that amount to your
registration form and put a note on the form that you wanted a table.
Anybody sharing a table let me know who you're sharing with and only
one of
you send the table fee.

So get the registration form back as soon as possible so we can get a
head count for food and pipes.  And please feel free to share this
email and flyer with any new members of your pipe clubs.  Lou and Sean
you can post on any of the boards as our expanded layout allows for
more people but of course we'll be limited to 48 for the contest as
that's about all we'll have room for in the front office area.

Best regards

Bill Feuerbach

I've been looking forward to it all year, Andy! It will be great seeing you again, as always.

Lou beat me to it!
I had posted this right after he did.
I asked the Mods to merge our threads to keep everything concise.

Awesome Sean,
My reservation request is already in the mail. Looking forward to seeing you there again this year.
And I have a lot more estates and many unsmoked pipes to bring along.
:D

Looking forward to seeing you too Andy!
I will also be bringing some pipes to sell / trade.

PS: I did very well last year! The last couple of years have been a little "tight" around Casa Dover.  All the money went to cover presents for my kids. The Wife who always nags about my pipes, was very pleased with how well I did last year. Now, when a box comes into the house, I hear nary a peep from her! I always tell her, "At least my hobby makes a little bit of cash for the holidays"!!!:santa: Can't say that about her horse & pony clubs!!!!

A HORSE!!!!
Sean,
You really have some bargaining power now.LOL
Talk about an expense, your pipe spending is probably a pittance compared to stable fees and feeding a horse.
On second thought, I'm not sure, I've seen some of your pipes!!!! :lol!:

I'm hoping to make it as well.
You better make a point to find me and introduce yourself after all the times you didn't go...........

Just look for the guy with the Kaywoodie in his mouth who looks like this:

I I sure will and I look forward to seeing all the East Coast guys who seem to show up at thia event.

Does one need to be a member of a pipe club in order to join the festivities?

Absolutely not. And there are some openings for more contestants. Bill made 50+ pipes this year.

Here's the latest update that Bill sent out yesterday.

Gentleman,

I thought a quick update is in order with the Holiday Party quickly
approaching next Saturday, December 14th. At his moment we have 54
people confirmed with possibly a few more to follow. I have made
56 pipes for the event and I know there are few who will defer in the
contest so we probably have 4-5 open spots in the contest. So if you
know anyone who is one the fence, please have them email me ASAP.

We will have the following people exhibiting:

Steve Monjure (Brebbia and Ardor pipes)
Bill Feuerbach ( Kaywoodie pipes)
Paul Bonacquisti (Park Lane Tobacconist, pipemaker and estate pipes)
Andy Camire (estate pipes)
Hank Saatchi (estate pipes)
Vernon Vig (estate pipes)
Sean Noonan and Howard Rothstein (HVPC table with estate pipes)
Bob Herbert and Pete Rothenberg (estate pipes)
Neil Flancbaum (Smokin Holsters leather goods)
Joe Skoda (pipemaker)
Rolando Negoita (pipemaker)
Tim Hynick (pipemaker)
Andrew Marks (pipemaker)

Unfortunately Dr. Bob Keiss will not be attending this year due to a
prior engagement, but we will have Vermont pipemaker Andrew Marks
attending for the first time.

As for the buffet, the menu has not yet been selected but will be along
the same line as previous years. We will try to move up the dinner a
little bit so that we can start the contest about 6pm so we don't end
too late for the guys who've got a bit of a drive afterward. For
anyone who wanted to stay overnight near the shop, there really are
only two places, There is a Holiday Inn Express in Fort Montgomery
near West Point (845) 446-4277 which is about 7-8 miles away and the Inn on the Hudson on Main Street in Peekskill (914) 739-1500. Expect to pay $130-140 at either place.

I'm sure we are all looking forward to next Saturday. See you all then.

Best regards

Additional message Concerning the Kaywoodie Party

This just in. We will also have Russ Ouellette of Pipes and Cigars in attendance with 10 new blends he'll be coming out with. Russ tells me they don't sell at events, but he'll have samples to try.

FITZY!!!!
GET YOUR ASS TO PEEKSKILL, NO MORE EXCUSES!!!!
HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!

I will be at the Hudson Valley Pipe Club Tables selling estates.
You see my picture (above), you know who to look for!
I'll twist your arm a bit......I'll have plenty o' baccy and "adult beverages" on hand.
Have a smoke and a drink and RELAX!!!! If you're really good, I may even introduce you to Skaukatt (Lou) and DocWatson (Andy)........:lol!:

It's always great to see new faces and this year will be the best ever. Great time, great folks, the best in pipes and tobacco. Time for everyone to buy themselves a couple Christmas gifts at this event!!!!

Crap, it's now looking like my work schedule won't get me there next weekend. Of course, I just read the attendee list, geez. I'm hoping for a Christmas miracle to turn this around....

Work is HIGHLY overrated!!!:santa:

lol Dover aka Sean. I don't think I will be able to make it. My wife doesn't feel so good about driving our son to his hockey game out in Stamford with this storm coming. I will have to make it to the next one.
