Gentlemen, Ladies, and Everyone Else,

Having exhausted the patience of my friends and family where the topic of pipe smoking is concerned, I was faced with the unwelcome prospect of either staying mum on the subject or acquiring new contacts. I am a novice in the art of the pipe, it is true, but have little interest in becoming an anchorite of the Order of the Briar, and so, against my better judgement, turned to the internet. A short time later I discovered this forum, and realized that there was more to this rightly-called "web" than photographs of cats with amusing captions and a quantity of pornography to make even a cad of my caliber blush. I feel honored to join your ranks, and look forward to sopping up your wisdom like a fresh bar rag clearing spilled PBR after the departure of a table of hipsters. I have a pretty solid handle on which end to pack and which end to puff on, but beyond that have much to learn, and thank you in advance for your tutelage and patience!

Brass tacks: As well as being a burgeoning pipe smoker, I'm an amateurish but avid hiker, reader, scribbler, mixologist, gin sipper, scotch tippler, rum sampler, beer drinker, film watcher, music listener, high and lowbrow art gazer, idle thinker, and player of games.

The smoke: Having tried quite a few blends, I find myself especially partial to Syrian Latakia, if I'm correctly identifying the notes I've most enjoyed in my favorite blends. Not much for aromatics on principle as well as practice, but always on the look-out for the odd recommendation. I'm not too far a pilgrimage from the wonderful B&M of Edwards in Denver, which has a selection of tins much grander than my bank account, hence the practicality of securing a large and dependable body of experienced hands.

I can also converse like a normal human being, when pushed to the wall or pressed for time. Very well met, pleased to be here, thank you all again for your time, and here's hoping everyone has a pleasantly hazy weekend.

Cheers!

That you are devote of the Chap Manifesto makes you a welcome addition by my way of reckoning. (Looking forward to Mr. B’s next album?)

That you are a mixologist is also worthy of note, as in the near future I hope to start a thread on that particular topic. Unfortunately the drink I desire to open the thread with as yet to meet the full gamut of my requirements.

That said. Welcome and make yourself at home among likeminded and similarly eclectic individuals. 8)

Welcome!
According to something I just read on the "internet", Coloradans(?) are the least obese people in America.
Yay!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I really am delighted to be here, and happy to report, Harlock999, that the rumors regarding the populace of my fair state are somewhat founded. Whether we can dress ourselves is an entirely different matter...

And Kieveryuu, I'm absolutely looking forward to the next album from out favorite chaphop superstar sort--only recently discovered him, but am quite taken, I must confess. In re: the mixology bit, there of all places I should have played up the "amateurish" aspect. My girlfriend, who has a much defter hand at such things, rarely even chances a sample of what I've cooked up, so I'm heading back to basics...but any cocktail/mixing thread will certainly have my attention!

Welcome to BoB from a non-hipster PBR swiller! Glad to have you aboard..

I'm new to the forum, too, and also from Colorado -- Denver, specifically. Perhaps I'll see you around at Edward's.

Many thanks, all!

Careful, squire, that stuff will shrink your jeans up around your legs and make you sprout black plastic frame glasses. In all seriousness, though, one could--and this one frequently has--do much worse where a bevvie is concerned!

I hope so! I'll keep an eye out for you, and for my part I've got skinny jeans and black plastic frames--my god, what's in this glass?!

Thanks again, all, for the warm welcome! And BB34, in re:
