Hey Gents!

This mission marks the 22nd mission of the BoB Bombers. What started as a crazy idea in the mind of our Ret. Commander Blackhorse has endured into the year 2014! Who would've thunkit?

The very first mission flown occurred in the month of April 2012. I, for one, didn't join in the fun until mission three: screw the empire! Guys looking for a chance to shed aromatics did so with destructive glee.

With that prelude, I am excited to open Mission 22: A Mischievous Resolution for bomber sign ups.

Sign ups will take place between now and January 12 (Friday).
Operation details will be sent after sign ups have closed on the 12th and 13th.

More details regarding the theme of this mission will be sent in the operation details. Spoiler: It's January.

1. Sign up by posting your intention to fly in this thread.
2. Post along with that intention the number of missions you have flown.
3. Post a new years resolution. (I left that intentionally vague.) The best one chosen by a panel of judges (lie) will win something of equal value to the perceived effort involved in writing the resolution. Or it will be completely random. For number 3, you can alway come back to this thread

So what are you waiting for? SIGN UP NOW!

If you've read all of this and you are not a bomber but wish to join, please PM me or Ocelot55.

Reporting for duty.

I'm in.

Edit:

See my signature for number of missions. 5

I forgot to post a resolution. Since I don really like resolution thing, it just seems like a convenient date for people I start doing something they could have started weeks prior when they thought of it.

Though, my schedule is changing and I do plan on getting back to gym with my brother, and would to get my squat, bench, and deadlift numbers back up to respectable levels. Also, I have some tobaccos to work through prior to opening new tins.

Reporting for duty

This mission makes #4

In terms of tobacco-related resolutions, I have resolved to smoke down all the samples I have in inventory (approximately 3+ lbs of 1 - 4 oz baggies) before I open a new tin or pouch of something. I also have the usual resolutions like participating in the bishop's "read the Bible in a year" challenge.

I realize we were just supposed to post one resolution, but as one of the mission chaplains, I felt a need to work Scripture into my response.

I'm in! I thought I had only missed 2 missions, not 4 . . . obviously I miscounted one way or the other!

I'm in, I can't remember how many I don't keep track but I think since last april? so lets say 7 or 8

My new years resolution was to in fact make no resolution

  1. In!
  2. 2 (i.e. this would be my third)
  3. I resolve to
join a band of roving bandits
    eat less junk food
    buy less tobacco :affraid:
be less of a grammar nazi :silent:
learn a new language! Perhaps Italian? (All the rest seem so unlikely!) :lol!:

Count me in.

This makes 4.

No resolutions. Don't make promisses I can't keep.

Edited Jan 7th. First resolution in 25 years.  Quit inhaling.

1. I'm in!
2. This makes #4 for me. :)
3. Resolutions - to continue to grow the world's most epic beard, to finally finish my pipe that I've been working on, to become a pirate king by April 16th, to get the tank(my '62 Merc) ready for road trippin', and to get a girlfriend. :p

Preferably one over 5'9". Just for kicks.

These probably all aren't going to happen, but as long as the pipe and the Merc get finished, I'm pretty well stoked.  :rabbit:

1. In
2. Been in all of them from the word go
3. Resolution = blow up more things in the new year!

I'm in .

Think it's been 21 or 20 for me. Been here come moves, hurricane, or furlough.

My resolution is to buy less pipes and try to make more.

I am in.

16 runs for me so for.

Resolution - buy way less tobacco this year, but purchase at least one commissioned pipe from one of the fine artisan makers on this site.  :D

Tobacco resolution: not to buy any new (as in untried) tobaccos until I've gone through at least a quarter of the backlog of untried blends in the cellar.

Good Luck with that Dr.T. I tried that one (or something like it) last year.

In!
This will be my fourth.
I resolve to drink only good whiskey, wine, and coffee this year. Shouldn't be too hard to hold myself to...

How'd you do?  I hope I can go through a quarter (while also smoking, and rebuying, blends I know I like) before I give into even greater tempation.  After all if I don't try those blends, how will I know to rebuy more?  :lol!:

Not too well honestly. It's tough to do. I might be able to do it if my home computer blew up and I picked up a job that wasn't in IT. Internet=instant access to tobacco.

Anyway, my goal for last year was to smoke more of what I had and buy less, but partially in reaction to some of the fear around legislation building against online sale of premium tobacco, increased taxes, etc., I stocked up instead. Maybe I did the right thing, who knows. But I did buy some tins that I am finding that I don't care for.

That's why this year I am going to put the bulk of my smoking funds into the pockets of at least one artisan pipe maker, hopefully two. I'd rather have a nice pipe than another Dunhill blend to hate.  :D

That is so true. If I've got a lull at work and I'm not writing any scripts or fixing anything, I'm on the great online marketplace. I've bought tobacco, pipes, RC helicopters, and all kinds of other junk, just because I was bored.  :p
