I just gave 9 of my Brighams a nice cleaning. I have a Senior Reamer set including the nylon brushes for the shank.

I've always cleaned the shanks with Q-tips soaked in vodka. I've nevered bothered with "shank brushes".

Well after using the Q-tip treatment, I decided to haul out the shank brush and give each shank a quick "go though". I did about 4 pipe shanks and the nylon brush gathered lots of "goob". These pipes are used solely for English blends.

Question... how do you cleaned the "goob" from the bristles?

 Paul

Hey Paul,

I usually use boiling hot water, dishwashing soap and a nail brush to clean those shank brushes....

Best,
D.J.

Sounds reasonable... a little surprised that the "goob" was still in there...

Thanks Dock

Use the small disposable brushes, then you don't have to worry about cleaning. They're cheap enough.
