Not sure Arky, but I'm pretty sure that Design Berlin use brass inlays in their pipes, mostly round the bowls.

I'm gunna make a pipe put it for sale on here see if I get any hits new idea

To my knowledge most pipe makers use Silver, Nickel, brass and sometimes gold but, not copper.
I've used aluminum and brass myself, can't afford those other fancy metals. :(

Did the revenooers bust up the still, Arky?

Seriously, I don't see copper as being a problem on a pipe if it's only used as a shank band or inlay in that general area.
There is no extreme heat there and if there was it would surely burn out with or without it. Highly polished copper can be very pretty as long as you can coat it with something to keep it from tarnishing too quickly IMO. ;)

Paul Menard from PaulsPipes.com has used copper on several of his handmade pipes, looks very nice.
