Listen.......

The leaves. They are rustling.
The birds. I can hear their wings beat again.
The chickens are talking amongst themselves. Something about the pestilence being gone. There's just something about chicken speak that the English language can't quite hold.
The cats are back. 'nuff said.
What is that high pitched sound? Like an AM radio not tuned to a station. Like a TV tube that's on but no audio volume.

Fare well my progeny. And my progeny's progeny.

And your little dog too!

I think this is the first time I've been alone in a while.

Wow.

Peace. Quiet. Solitude.

Just like I like it!

That's the way I like it also!

Here are some of the things said during the last 4 days...

Oh, here come the rug rats!
Oh, here come the other rug rats!
Is it time to eat yet?
Is this the tree you want me to cut down?
No, it's too small! (turned out to be one foot too tall!)
Can I drive your Polaris?
NO!
That damn dog just lifted it's leg on the leather couch!
Yeah, but that's ok, he does that all the time and nothing comes out!
You don't mind if I breast feed in here do you?
Oh, there are cookies?
Hey Dad, my car won't start.
I told you not to sit in there with the radio on.
What? She has a rash all over?
Yes, we all enjoyed your stay.
What do you mean she didn't bring any clothes?
No, you go to Wal-Mart, I'm not.
You want to go to Wal-Mart again? You were just there.
Bye Mom
Uh, what about me?

I'm glad this holiday is over with. It was mostly fun with everyone here, but...

Con, that's some funny stuff right there. Prolly not to you at the time though!

I hope you are able to enjoy the quiet, and are feeling better, Wiz!

cC con, you are not kidding!

I think I heard every one of those lines here as well.

Now I can get to reading again. Can you believe that there are those that say if one is reading they aren't doing anything? But watching TV is doing something. I figured your brain was more active reading than staring at the screen.

I dunno... No company now until Wednesday's physical therapy.

I know the song has nothing to do with it but it's the title that counts,  plus it's a damn good song.

Thankfully, unlike Ozzy, I got plenty of the sound of silence over the holiday weekend, very relaxing. I was even able to enjoy bowl after bowl of uniterrupted tobacco bliss.

Sometimes it's nice when your house guests have things that they have to get back to.:p

What's that great line from ol Ben Franklin? "Fish and visitors stink after three days." Or something very much like it.

Is it time for me to start bah-humbugging yet?

Get off my lawn kids.

Cheers

Tim
