I’ve picked one of these for a decent price. But I knew I was going to have to put o-rings it and clean it up from the get go.

So, does anyone else use one of these to light their pipes? Do you think it would burn to top of the bowl when lighting? Anyone have any other + to -‘s on these lighters? Or opinions?

Ever since Sean Connery used one in Dr. No I’ve thought they were a cool looking lighter.

Well I received my rollagas this afternoon in non working order. I had already purchased a o-ring to rebuild it. So after a couple hours of tearing apart, cleaning and reassembling. It’s works pretty darn good for a 50+ year old lighter. It’s really amazing how the slightest turn of a screw on these will adjust the flame.

I like your lighter!
I have a small collection of lighters. I prefer the Rollagas pipe lighters to the cigarette lighters but the only place to get a pipe flame installed is ARS and they get $133.25 shipped with a mandatory overhaul so I shop accordingly. I picked this bark lighter up in November at the right price and got the pipe flame and overhaul for around $200. That's under half price of a new lighter. It leaked but was otherwise was like new, tight and seamless with no rubbing or bumped edges. There is an active Rollagas collectors Facebook group that I belong to.

I’ve wanted a rollagas lighter for a long time and a pipe lighter version since I started smoking a pipe over 18 years ago. I picked this one up for $25+ shipping of eBay, o-ring kit for $9.95+ shipping. So I have less than 50 bucks in it. It came in a blue Dunhill box and has the instruction booklet with a date of 03/65 on the lower right rear cover.

It’s not in immaculate shape. It’s worn but not abused. That was what I was looking for,one I wouldn’t be afraid to touch in fear of scratching it.

Nice looking lighter and the worn look only adds character, good find.
