Forgot to add that perhaps the finest hot sauce I've ever had, the crème de la crème, the Magnum Opus if you will, came not from a commercial enterprise but from a guy in the local homebrew club. He concocted a Chipotle sauce, and smoked Chipotle peppers he grew himself which he then blended with other ingredients. The result was pure nirvana I tell you, pure bliss! Just the right amount of heat, smoked goodness, and pepper flavour. Like Goldilock's porridge it was just right! Gott im Himmel it was great!!! He graciously gave me a pint of this in a re-purposed whisky flask, and I savoured it over many months. Wanted to make it last, you see. He had a grand vision about producing this commercially in 3 strengths. He named them in ascending order according to heat- Cheeky Monkey Naughty Monkey Spanky Monkey Sadly, his venture never got off the ground. Apparently the method he had of smoking the Chipotle peppers was too labour intensive for commercial manufacturers, and he refused to let the process be dumbed down. Good for him on the one hand , but a pity on the other! Ah well, at least I had a chance to grasp the gold ring once in my life! :farao: Cheers, RR
