Come gather ’round people
Get out of your car
The cameras around you
All know who you are
You thought this would happen
In some time afar
But it’s happening right now before you….
As the waves you saw mounting
Now flood where you are
For the paradigms they are a-shiftin’.

Hilarius!

Stealing from Woodie and from The Weavers. Now that's funny with your mindset. You have been promoted to Fellow Traveler.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand

That man is a genius.

Speaking of 50, I'm 52 today and a bit melancholy. A pipe friend posted this Jethro Tull video on another forum for Wondr'ing Aloud. Those words me realize I'm very blessed.

"Wond'ring Aloud"

Wond'ring aloud --
how we feel today.
Last night sipped the sunset --
my hands in her hair.
We are our own saviours
as we start both our hearts beating life
into each other.

Wond'ring aloud --
will the years treat us well.
As she floats in the kitchen,
I'm tasting the smell
of toast as the butter runs.
Then she comes, spilling crumbs on the bed
and I shake my head.
And it's only the giving
that makes you what you are.

:fpalm:  Try Bob Dylan.

:face:
Ooof.  :fpalm: , indeed.

Clever little re-write...perhaps Zen Gardner ought to consider taking a pen to "With God on our Side," as well.

I don't think you need to be "old" to appreciate the music of ole Bob!

Not at all. :D His music for me is hit-n-miss, but his lyrics... oh, his lyrics. :) Dylan enthusiasts usually want to draw and quarter me when I ask if Bob's work comes in book form. :p

I'm just glad it was cleared up who penned the words.

Happy birthday...song:afro:
