Each year I buy a bottle of "better to great" whisk(e)y to take up to the shop (my motorcycle hangout) and share with the guys as a Christmas salute. This year I bought a bottle of the Dickel, barrel select. It's 86 proof. 10-12 years old...and simply outstanding! Better than any of the small batch Beam products, easily. I think I paid $34 for it. Unanimously the second best offering I have made. The first is the George Stagg. Stagg is pricey--about $50, and stout, my current bottle is 141 proof. But, this post is really about the Dickel. I've always liked their 8 and 12, but this is significantly better. Try it.

Thanks for the tip! I'm always on the lookout for a competitively priced smooth single barrel! :santa:
