Greetings to all you pipesters here. Been lurking around a bit and figured I may as well weigh in.
Spent literally decades of being the perennial "new guy" ( Bad pipe choices...packed it in; bad tobacco choices...packed it in; lack of time...packed it in; poor technique...well. you get the idea.). The thing is on each of these occasions I kept BUYING more pipes.
Finally a few years ago, while staring into the barrel of the big Five-Oh, walked into a local B&M and asked for the MILDEST tobacco they had. The owner spent a little time with me showing me the right way to pack and light a pipe. Between that and an old girlfriend buying a copy of Rick Newcombe's In Search of Pipe Dreams it was off to the races.
Been running with it ever since.
Have already learned quite a bit from the forums, and hope to learn more. May chime in on occasion but just glad to be here. Glad YOU GUYS are here too.
