Can anyone help me to identify the maker and approximate age of this tobacco?
There are no markings on the sides of the tin and the lack of tobacco warning stickers makes me think this has some age to it.

Thanks,
Mike B.

It would seem it's from a now-defunct brand and mixer, possibly from as early as the 60's to possibly the 80's. I can't find any other blends they did, only under that name. The trademark status for both are well expired internationally, it seems, too.

...apparently they don't think it's Dunhill...

Man you are good. Thank you Kyle.
That is about 1000 times more than I knew about this tobacco before I posted.

...the real question is... you gonna crack it open and see if it has aged well?

Two hints Kyle:

1) Looks like the art is a paste on label....Not done in the 60s ( they were painted on) I think. When did the switch occur?

2) Weight is 2 oz. so it was before the switch to 50 g.tins.

That should give you a bracket for the time frame.

:drunken:

I was going for big-picture information, rather than specific. Also, incomplete.

Gimme a break, mon. 8)

I shoulda put a "YMMV" disclaimer on it.

No problema.

Just caught my fancy. I did a quick search on dunhill tobac history. http://loringpage.com/PipeArticles/duntobac/duntobac.htm

Seems that D. changed from paper to painted labels in the early 60s. They were painted in 62 when I started. And they switched from 56 grams and 2 ounces in late 70s. And, then to 50 grams without changing the price. Kinda like ice cream now....no 1/2 gal. but same price.

My guess is 1975 +/- 5 yrs. MMDV my mileage did vary. :lol!:
