Ropp has an interesting line of pipe shapes, many with horn stems. I'm leery of purchasing a pipe with a horn stem, mainly because I don't have any experience with them. Have any of you purchased a pipe with a horn stem? How do you like it?

Yep, if you're a "clincher," have sharp/crooked teeth, or like to "chew' your stems; then be very careful with horn stems. I do have several; enjoy them immensely but am careful with them. The NOS Ropps are a fine pipe!! FTRPLT

Thanks for the info. I'm not a bit chewer so that shouldn't be an issue. One thing that I was concerned about was how the horn stems hold up over time. I had a horn scaled pocket knife that had been in storage for a number of years and when I dug it out was disappointed to find that that it had two holes in the horn handle scales. Apparently there is some type of worm or insect that eats horn.
