Hello Gang,

Anyone have any idea how to get all of the icky and sticky residue off of a well used Zippo lighter insert? Short of taking it all apart and scrubbing the chimney with a brillo pad,I've tried it all... :x

Dock,

That's a merit badge. Don't you dare clean it up. It'll stop workin for sure.

If something needs a light reaming or scrubbing, I use old tooth brushes. I try to always save them for cleaning stuff.

Yeah, I have the same blank reaction to someone asking how to clean a Zippo as to someone asking how to clean a squirrel. I guess it's possible, but not strictly necessary and quite a bit more trouble than it's worth. If I had to try, I'd probably give it a shot of carb cleaner and call it good. The Zippo, that's more difficult.
