This time of year, I enjoy the mowing, it's a zen like experience. About half the time I smoke a few bowls while walking behind the mower. I try to mow once a week or more, depending on weather. I would rather empty the bag on my Honda self-propelled eight or ten times rather than fifteen or twenty times, thus I try to mow more frequently. it is normally a two plus hour job.
Now, when July and August get here and the temps are above 100 F., I find the process less alluring. The good news is that our bluegrass/fescue mix really slows down in the heat. Of course we have to run the sprinkler system more often. If we get more than sixteen inches of rain a year, we are having a wet year.
