Gosh, there are so many, choosing just 5 favourite blenders is a tough one, I'm going to go with the following because of a specific blend, in no particular order.

Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning is the business
McClelland - Christmas Cheer is delightful
Peter Stokkebye - couldn't be without Luxury Bullseye Flake
GLPease - Fillmore is out of the park awesome
Samuel Gawith - Best Brown Flake is superb

McCranie's Red Flake
McClelland Mature Va.'s # 25
McClelland Bulk Va.'s 2000, 2010, 2015, 2035, 5100
OGS
GH Lakelands: Bosun Cut Plug, Grasmere, Dark Plug, Dark Flake (S)

I'm sorry but I can't survive with just 5 kinds of tobacco. That's why I have so many varieties in my stash. :)

AJ
Five brands! It makes it easier. In my mind you have room for 1-2 more AJ! That is if you count McCranies as McClelland. :)

McClelland
G.L. Pease
Esoterica
Rattray's (James B. Russell and older)
Hearth and Home

As the others said, this is a far easier question than a top five blends! Still, easier is not necessarily easy...

1. McClelland--couldn't live without Syrian Lat, and I love what they do with it.
2. Sam Gawith--classic for a reason.
3. Esoterica Tobacciana--not just for the big two, either...
4. Mac Baren--but yes, mostly for ODF and the Capstan Blue; both of which might be made for them by others?
5. GL Pease--the toughest slot to fill! Solani, Dan, Dunhill, and Rattray's were all contenders, but in the end Pease is a more daring blender, and what list is complete without a bit of vim and vigor?

After further reflectiom I'd have to change mine to:

1.Dunhill
2.McClelland's
3.McClelland's
4.McClellands
5.Orlik
These are now correct and in order of preference

You guys seem to be talking vendors... I thought the question was about particular tobaccos... so, my mixed list, in no particular order...

1. Penzance
2. Skallorna
3. Amphora Regular
4. Frog Morton on the Town
5. Cross-Eyed Cricket

Best,

Brands right? Not individual tobaccos...

1. McClelland
2. Solani
3. Samuel Gawith
4. Cornell and Diehl
5. Germain (Esoterica) this would move up if I could get a ready supply...

In all fairness, I haven't tried Rattrays yet. I have a feeling this could be one of my favorites.

Nope, I wanted to know blenders. The reason I asked is because I have a bunch of mis-mash blends and have recently discovered Stutliff. It got me to think about which companies were people's favs. I have only tried 3 from Stutliff and they are all awesome to me 1) Moulin Rougue, 2) Molto Dulce and 3) Maple Street.

1. McClelland's
2. Gawith & Hoggarth
3. Rattray's
4. GLP
5. C&D

1) Dunhill
2) Germain (Esoterica,Smoker's Haven)
3) Steven Books (House of Calabash)
4) Hearth & Home
5) McClelland

No particular order:

1. GLP
2. Hearth & Home
3. McC
4. Solani
5. SG

Of course, I could add five more!!!!!!!!  FTRPLT

GLP
S. Gawith
Rattray (for HOTW)
Hearth & Home (for Black House)
Dunhill

though really the top three alone would do it...
