Today, April 7, is National Beer Day! I have a tall cold one waiting in my fridge for noon. It’s one of my favorite pale lagers...Coors Banquet. It is one of the easiest gulping beers out there. Delicious on a hot Summer day. It makes my wife and daughter shudder as they are dark ale freaks. But I remember when Coors wasn’t available in Oregon and I once filled up the trunk of a car when in Nevada. Lasted me a good while. I prefer long neck bottles, now harder to find.

Any special plans out there in the peanut gallery?

Didn't realize today is National Beer Day. I've been a Coors Banquet aficionado since the early 70's when I had to "smuggle" it in from CO to Milwaukee, WI. Still enjoy it as a very crisp and refreshing American Lager. Even an old retired craft brewer like me can still appreciate Coors!

Banquet had become my go to be lately it is quite good. I like the stubby bottles but have cans at home now. Will be having one tonight for National Beer Day

Did not realize it was national beer day but did have a Corona yesterday with my burger at the Haunted Hamburger in Jerome. Gave up coors several years ago. Much better beer out there.

My favorite liquor store, meat market, Italian grocery, Morelli's Market, ran a special on Finnegans Rescue + Recharge brewed by a Minneapolis brewery. I've enjoyed several of Finnegans beers, so for $6.00/12 pack, I bought five 12 pks. It was cheap, I'm sure, because it must have been slow sell. It's not great, but when chilled, and I'm thirsty, I can enjoy a 50 cent beer. I'm actually having one now.

So...living in a hotbed of small breweries and craft beer/ale, etc. I do take advantage. LOTS of even the smaller pubs offer their own brews. Then there are the big outfits that are local/regional. Names like McMenamins, Full Sail, Rogue, Black Butte, Snoqualmie Falls...etc., etc., etc. I’m all over tipping back a full flavored Porter or Stout, an IPA or Imperial Ale, even Barleywine. But if it’s gulping down a crisp refreshing lager that’s needed...Coors is my pick.

I don’t drink light beer, etc.
