I always admired the look of the autographs but every one I ever handled seemed heavy.
They do tend to be that way, for sure. Weight is the first thing I check when I see a pipe I like. I've got one Autograph: I liked it enough to overcome its weight, but it's the only one so far, and I don't smoke it often. Too heavy.
 
Apologies, Tship. I should've made that comment somewhere that wasn't somebody's celebration of their new Autograph. That's a great looking pipe and I have no doubt you'll enjoy it thoroughly. Nothing but congrats to you on it!

That's more my speed, yeah. I'm a clencher, and my teeth appreciate me more when I give them a fairly light pipe to hold on to.
